I Invite You to Join Me on a Trip to Southeast Asia

15 January-9 February 2015

I am preparing to set off on my first trip of 2015, starting with two days in Hong Kong and a 14-day cruise on Holland America’s ms Voldendam from Hong Kong to Singapore, with stops in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand.  I will then spend three days in Singapore before flying to Siem Reap, Cambodia (for access to Angkor Wat).  From there I return to Singapore for one night and then a long day’s flight home:  Singapore-Hong Kong-Los Angeles-Tucson.

I have previously visited Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Singapore--but those visits seem almost like ancient history:  Hong Kong in 1985 and 1994; Bangkok and Singapore in 1985.  I am especially excited about visiting four ports in Vietnam; Sihanoukville, Cambodia; and the island of Koh Samui, Thailand.  After the cruise and three days in Singapore, I head off on my own for four days to visit the temples of Angkor Wat and the city of Siem Reap, Cambodia.

I regret not taking the time to visit Machu Picchu when I was on a cruise visiting Peru in 2013, and this time I don't want to regret missing Angkor Wat.
