Tucson

Many happy returns from Tuesday's wonderful election results. Although LFLatSea is open to everyone of every political and ideological persuasion, I am personally excited about the many positive changes that we will witness in the coming months.

As promised in the previous blog, I will begin with our August move from Mountain View Retirement Village to the Country Club of La Cholla. Although we made many good friends at MVRV and our two-bedroom/two-bath apartment was spectacular, daily living had become too unnecessarily stressful. Management's priorities never seemed to match residents' real needs, food quality and service was, at best, inconsistent, and monthly rent charges were very high. At CCLC we are paying $2000. less per month for a 2-bed/2-bath apartment that is only slightly smaller than our previous abode. We have a large patio that looks out upon the landscaped campus rather than a small terrace that overlooked a parking lot. We are enjoying many more services than at MVRV, including three meals a day--rather than two--of varied and excellent food (including wine), and apartment cleaning (with laundering of towels and sheets) every week instead of every two weeks. Most importantly, the management team, including the Executive Director, is always visible and available to residents.
