Day at Sea
Another beautiful morning greets us on Marina as we prepare to enjoy a relaxing day at sea. After breakfast in the Grand Dining Room, we elevator up to Deck 14 (almost at the top) to Baristas for iced lattes and various flavored madeleines.
I use the quiet of the morning to take a round of ship photographs. If you have been with LFLatSea on previous cruises on the Marina and its sister ship, Riviera, these will look familiar. But I always have new readers who might enjoy the ambience at sea.

The most strenuous activities of the day are dining and drinking. Lunch in the Waves Care: shrimp salad sandwich, tossed salad with Italian Dressing for me; grilled hot dog with crispy fried onions, sweet relish, and sweet potato fries for Will. We both have Diet Cokes.
At 6:15pm I attend an LBGTQ+ gathering in Horizons. There are about nine of us, all pleasant gay men and one young, attractive woman. I don't have an alcoholic drink since I know I will be having lots of Champagne with dinner.
At 8pm I meet Will at Jacques (as in Pepin), the second of four speciality restaurants. There are no extra charges, but advance reservations are necessary. Without any personal identifications, we both enjoy the following very delicious dinner: amuse bouche of creamed eggplant in a baked tartlet; lobster bisque; escargots a la Bourguignonne; sautéed Dover sole with crispy bread croutons and lemon-caper butter; lobster thermidor with rice; pistachio creme brûlée; chocolate mousse. And, yes, lots of Champagne!
I was planning to go on with the description of the next day's activities, but I am really sated after all this food. So our adventure in the rainforest near Limon, Costa Rica, will have to wait for the next blog. |
