Marriage Ceremony Photos

How our "sudden" marriage ceremony came about:
This past Wednesday, Will reminded me that tomorrow (2 November) would be the 40th anniversary of our relationship. Without time to blink, "let's get married," came tumbling out of my mouth (directly from my heart). Fortunately, local courthouses in southern Arizona perform marriages on Friday afternoons, on a first come-first served basis. We made a reservation to be married at the Pima County Courthouse in downtown Tucson (where we obtained our marriage license on Thursday). But we later learned that at least 25 other couples were planning to marry in Tucson, so we cancelled the downtown ceremony and elected to try Oro Valley, an incorporated town just a few miles from our home in Pima County (about 1/3 the distance to downtown). And we were, in fact, the only couple marrying on this particular day.
The judge agreed to perform the ceremony (which we adapted and altered from "official" ceremonies), if no one wore jeans and if we made a contribution to the local Food Bank in lieu of his payment (a really good idea). And although the judge wore jeans under his robes, the wedding party followed his directions.
After the brief ceremony in the courthouse, Will and I exchanged rings in the garden outside. We then took our three witnesses to dinner at the Keg, a really nice steak and lobster restaurant (in spite of its tacky name). We enjoyed a bottle of fine French champagne and everyone had lovely dinners.
