Day at Sea
Last night, just before midnight, the Encore departs from Rhodes on its way to the island of Spetses, very close to the Peloponnesian mainland. We will try to relax as we sail westward across the Cretan Sea. The sea day officially begins after breakfast, when passengers join the ship's officers in Seabourn Square for coffee and conversation
The shops, with a variety of goods at a variety of prices, remain open all day. We take the opportunity to browse but don't find anything that we must have. But it is also a good day to tour the ship and see all its special places--including the Halloween decorations.

Soon enough it's time for lunch, today in the Restaurant, usually open for dinner only. Will has a bowl of vegetable soup, a small salad, and a large hot dog served with French fries. I enjoy an antipasti plate with assorted cold meats and cheeses, followed by a large minute steak, with French fries and vegetables. We skip desserts but still realize that we have eaten too much and we will skip dinner entirely.
We enjoy a restful night before tomorrow's landfall.
