As we dock in Civitavecchia, the port of Rome, this morning, we reach the end of the first segment of our journey--16 days from Istanbul to Rome--and begin the second segment, 21 days from Rome to Miami. Because we are continuing our journey in the same suite, we do not have to pack up our belongings, or depart from the Encore, even for a short time. And our friends Anita and Deb are joining us today for the sailing to Miami.

And looking forward to tomorrow, since the Encore is already five days west of Rome, LFLatSea will describe a wonderful day in Ajaccio, Corsica, France--the birthplace of Napoleon.
